Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, this four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Tom McEvoy is considered by those involved in the industry as a true gentleman and a great ambassador for the sport.
Tom was originally an accountant, but it wasn’t long before he moved to Las Vegas in 1979 to become a professional poker player. Specializing in tournaments, McEvoy pursued his dream of a WSOP bracelet and four years later he made it happen.
With six books under his belt, Tom is one of the most recognized names in the game, and he’s also part of a select group of players to win the World Series of Poker Main Event.
Tom’s role as an author, teacher, and player is unsurpassed. He’s given his life to the game of poker and has always held a place of respect as a class act and an ambassador of poker.
On November 4th 2013, Tom McEvoy was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. According to Tom, “Next to winning the Main Event at the World Series of Poker, getting into the Poker Hall of Fame was the most important thing that ever happened in my poker career.”
