Through a combination of hard work, big results, and an affable personality, Antonio Esfandiari has established himself as one of the most recognizable and popular professional poker players in the world.

Young Esfandiari opted to change his first name to Antonio and became a professional magician, skills that have been put on display on numerous television broadcasts. There was no denying Esfandiari had the chops to make a living with magic, but that’s when poker entered his life.

Poker Classic for $1,399,135. Given his background as a magician, young enthusiasm, and his win taking place in the midst of the poker boom, Esfandiari immediately became a star.

A few months later, Esfandiari won his first World Series of Poker bracelet when he took down the $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em event for $184,860.
